Bring ACT NOW! to your school, group or organization

Hosting an ACT NOW! MOVIExperience workshop offers numerous benefits for your school, group, or organization. Whether adolescents (girls or boys) or adults (yes, we do MOVIExperiences with adults), individual participants certainly gain the most from the MOVIExperience, as hidden talents are uncovered and self esteem and confidence soar. But since the MOVIExperience is a goal oriented and time limited process, it is a perfect team-building exercise for groups of all kinds. Participants learn new ways to express themselves, listen to others, and work toward a common goal. Because the workshop teaches improvisation and utilizes role-playing, participants often push themselves out of their comfort zones and express themselves in new ways. What starts out being a fun activity often ends up becoming a transformative experience.

Our MOVIExperience can be completely open-ended (i.e. the participants make a movie about virtually any topic of their choosing) or can be theme-based. Thus if a school or organization wanted to address a specific topic of concern – bullying, body image, drug or alcohol use for example – we could tailor a MOVIExperience to explore that topic. The MOVIExperience workshop would then be an experiential way for the group to explore that topic. The resulting movie could then be used with that group and with subsequent groups, to spark conversation and further interest in that topic.

Additionally, a MOVIExperience is a wonderful way to attract both constituent and media attention for your group, school or organization. Who doesn’t want to be in the movies? And, as a quick look at our News page shows, it is very easy to get media attention around your group’s MOVIExperience. The resulting movie can be shown on your local television station, uploaded to your own web site and/or YouTube, and distributed to your constituents, supporters and potential funders.
